For a certain number of participants, the weekend of psychic bootcamp activities will include a full-fledged paranormal investigation of the Clement Railroad Hotel Museum guided by Volunteer State Paranormal Research. This will be the first time ever to allow the public to investigate and learn about the spirit/paranormal activity at this historical location. (I can personally attest to this location being haunted, I have had a couple of personal experiences there!!)

The Clement Railorad Hotel Museum, also known as The Hotel Halbrook, is located in historic downtown Dickson,TN. The hotel was constructed in 1913 and is one of the few remaining examples of a railroad hotel in a small Tennessee town. The Museum features exhibits and programming involving the Civil War, railroading, and local and regional history. The location and building has been used for various business and functions through history. The museum opened in June of 2009. Since the opening, there has been reports from some of the employees that they have encountered unexplained sightings and events at the Hotel Halbrook.

Volunteer State Paranormal Research is a NON-PROFIT team of Paranormal Investigators who investigates in the Middle Tennessee and Western Tennessee area. for most of our investigations. The Ancient Pyramids

There was a comment recently, by Amy on the Memphis Psychic Meetup page, asking if there were any “accurate” psychic tests out there. I hate to say it, but no, I haven’t found anything that I would say was “accurate”, save for one, and it’s more like a good “psychic exercise” than a test. I’ll let you know all about that one in a moment, but for now I’ll talk about why psychic tests don’t really work. Number one, I come from the belief that we are all psychic. Debra Katz says, “The Gift is not being psychic…it’s knowing you are”, and I believe that is the Truth. And one of the major obstacles with developing an accurate test is that we don’t even understand what psychic phenomena is all about. You would think that if someone can “see” the unseen, that it would be no challenge to them to be able to see what Zener card is next in the deck. Zener cards are one of the original psychic tests – they are basic shapes – a star, wavy lines, a circle – that sort of thing. However, psychic abilities just don’t seem to work that way, at least they don’t work like that for me. In fact, I’ve “failed” about a dozen psychic tests. I took a every test I could find when I first started realizing “weird things” going on in my life. However, I have given many accurate readings when, according to the tests, I have almost no psychic ability. I have been able to describe many important details about people’s lives and the details were the most important to them at the time.

There is a psychic ability known as “remote viewing”. This activity (I don’t really think of psychic activities as “abilities” since everyone has the ability, it is just a matter of education and practice) has to do with describing distant locations which the “viewer” has not previously seen. This is the definition from the Wikipedia page for remote viewing:

“Remote viewing (RV) is the practice of seeking impressions about a distant or unseen target using paranormal means, in particular, extra-sensory perception (ESP) or sensing with mind.”

There is actually a remote viewing “test”, it’s the test I was referring to before, at Psychic-Experiences.com. The exercise is pretty simple – they give you a 4 digit number and a blank space to type your impressions. I recommend that you keep a record of all of your impressions, as well as the pictures, for future reference. I did that in the VERY beginning, when I was trying to come to grips with the fact that psychic phenomena MIGHT be real… I did the RV exercise at Psychic-Experiences and documented the results, since I wanted to be able to see for myself if there were any patterns. I was actually blown away by my results. I went through about eight images in a short amount of time, and each description was eerily accurate. While one could not complete a drawing from the descriptions, they were very suggestive, so much so, that one could match the photo with the description is given a stack of a dozen photos. I would have thought that this kind of experiment would have been MORE difficult than the Zener cards, but I actually performed MUCH better. Below is the description I gave for the image featured in this post – the pyramids:

“BEFORE SEEING THE PICTURE: tall up-and-down ‘kind of at an angle’ ‘in a row’ beige — AFTER SEEING THE PICTURE: I think I nailed this one – it’s funny, I stopped because I thought “there’s just not a lot to this one” LOL I wish I would have written that down too!”

And, because I am a little scientific minded, I did another test with the remote viewing a few nights later. I had just arrived back at my apartment. I had been visiting some married friends of mine who were having a LOT of trouble in their first year of marriage. I talked for hours with both of them, with him, with her, with both of them again… I didn’t want them to be together, or apart, I just wanted them to be able to communicate with each other and figure out what was best for them. Well, I arrived home COMPLETELY exhausted! I was scattered, and for the most part, in a fairly bitter mood. For some reason, I thought, “now would be a great time to test this psychic thing!” So, I did another RV exercise at the Psychic-Experiences website and I TOTALLY bombed it! LOL! The descriptions weren’t even REMOTELY close! I became a firm believer right then that psychic awareness is definitely a state of mind.

So, if you want to try out the RV exercise, first understand that you ARE psychic – regardless of what the results are. Second, just take a moment to relax, take a few deep breaths, and just leave the worries and troubles of the world behind you. It’s worth it. You can check out my Meditations page for meditations that will help you get better at this, but just taking a few deep breaths and telling yourself that you are leaving EVERYTHING outside your door for just 10 minutes, can do WONDERS for your experiences. When you get better at this step is when you might really want to start listening to my meditation music and my guided meditations.

Overall, try out everything you can find through Google, but KNOW that you ARE psychic already. There is NO test that will conclusively prove you are, or are not, psychic. You just need experience. That is the goal of this website – to provide you with ways to develop, practice, and experience your psychic awareness.

Remember, the English language is made from humans, and the world speaks in different tongues.

Now that you have asked your question, clear your mind and allow the world to send you an answer. The answer probably will not come in the form of words, but as symbols. After 5-10 minutes of free thinking, get up and write these symbols and feelings down. I am nearer the “ground” now.  There are smaller, more slender towers here.  They are no less delicate and exquisite. 

I know, in some unexplained way that each tower is a single crystal.  Even though there are multifaceted areas, areas of filigree, lattice and glowing fiber each tower is autonomous. 

Floating – Drifting – Experiencing 

Suddenly I know the Crystal Towers are alive.

There is a Crystalline Life Force.

This is their World.

This is not a Fairy Land of wonderful Crystal towers constructed by an unknown alien form.  These are magnificent, intelligent, individual life forms radiating Life Energy and Completeness.

This is not a place for such as me to dwell.

This is a place of majesty, power and sincere intent.

This is place for such a one as I to come for healing, for affirmation and for companionship.

The Crystalline Life Force, although very different, is compatible with many other Life Forces.  Their thoughts, encouragements and advice comes to me as knowings (substantiated) by their presence.

I feel alive – I feel whole – I feel affirmed I drift away and back into the Cosmos.

I, Spirit, will return to my dense earth bound body.

I will return slightly wiser and slightly more fulfilled. 

I know now, that there is also a Crystalline presence on the planet of my habitation.

I was walking  in the Suns. 

It was a wonderful sensation of freedom and Self-Existence.  I walked with a spring in my step and a song in my Heart. 

Some, seeing me pass would ask,  “What are you doing?”  I would  reply, “Walking in the Suns.”  With a puzzled look in their eyes they would ask, “Well, where are you going?”  “To the next Sun“, I would say confidently. 

They would shake their heads and walk away from this crazed person walking under many Suns.  After all, every one knows there is only one Sun.  Inwardly I would smile, knowing I knew what they did not. 

I would continue walking.  What they said or thought didn’t matter.  I left them with my Love, and my Sympathy.  I was where I should be,  Doing what I should do.  I walked on reveling in the Light and  the Warmth and the Security. 

As I walked from Sun to Sun, the only sadness I felt was that of being alone.  Why was I the only one having this joyful experience of tramping through the wonder of other worlds?  Why had only I found this “Road of Eternal Light”?  I wanted companions.  Perhaps I could stop and find someone to teach the “Way” and they could walk with me. 

But wait, now that I had experienced loneliness and wistfulness of wishing that others could join me, I became more aware.  I became aware of others. 

At first I thought they were joining because of my selfless example.  But, No!  Many were already walking in the Suns.  I became aware that the Path before me was already deeply worn.  Many had made this journey before me.  Many others were now walking the same trail as I.  Some had journeyed long and others were new to the Path.  I couldn’t see them, but I knew they were there. 

I had been walking alone only because I thought I was alone.  The others on this pilgrimage weren’t  joining me, they had found the way to their own journey, each in their own manner.  We were all on a Quest.  We were each walking the same Path, but each in our own personal way.  I knew others walked with me now, each intent on their own journey, but all headed toward the same goal. 

I was Happy.  A new Song burst from my Heart.  It was a Song of Joy and Love and Acceptance. 

I walked from Sun to Sun growing and changing deep within my Spirit.  I was now aware that the transition to other Suns, although gradual, was marked.

A new Sun.  A new Perspective.  A new World.  I walked and I was Glad. 

Some seeing me pass would ask, “What are you doing?”  I would reply, “Walking in the Suns”.  With a puzzled look in their eyes they would ask, “Well, where are you going?”  “To the next Sun”, I would say confidently, “But you haven’t asked the most important question of all”.  “What question would that be?”, a few would ask curiously.  “Ahh”, I would reply, “You didn’t ask, Why?” 

“Oh”, the occasional one would respond, “Why are you walking so joyously in the hot Sun?”  “Because I am on a Quest”, would be my response, “To the next Sun and the next and the next.  The Journey, that is the important thing.  There is a goal, an endpoint, a destination, but that isn’t very important.  The Journey, that is what is important.  The Quest, the Learning, the Experience, these are the reasons walking in the Suns is so important.” 

Then I walked on leaving the Questioner.  I walked hoping that in imparting my small bit of experience and knowledge to the Questioner I might have helped ignite a flame of curiosity.  Perhaps someday I would sense the Questioner on the Path and realize I had helped myself and another along the way. 

I walk with a wonderful sensation of freedom and Self-Existence.

I walk with a spring in my step and a new Song in my Heart.

I walk with Joy, with Love, with Acceptance and with companions.

I walk with the completeness of knowing there is a Journey.

I walk in the Suns.

May we all Journey well!

I was very young when it all started – I’ll guess between five and seven years old. One night I was very ill in bed, with a flu that didn’t seem to go away. I had a terrible fever (well over 100 degrees), I was sick to my stomach, I had a sore throat, a stuffed up nose, and both of my ears were infected. While ill, late at night after my parents went to sleep, I was awoken by the sound of the most beautiful harp music. This music was so incredible; I never wanted it to stop. I just listened to it, with my eyes closed, feeling comfort and relief for the first time in days. To this day, I don’t remember hearing anything so soothing or beautiful. Within the next couple of days, my illness cleared up completely. I knew in my heart it had something to do with the harp music.

At this point in my life I was attending Catholic school on Saturday mornings. I decided to tell my teacher (who was a nun) about what happened, telling her about hearing the music late at night, and getting better after I heard it. When I asked her if she knew what it was, she enthusiastically told me, “It sounds like the Mother Mary visited you!” I’ve held this story close to my heart ever since then. I always knew it was a very unusual event, but I didn’t know where to fit it into my life. Since studying medium work and clairvoyance, I’ve realized that my Mother Mary encounter would be my first interaction with the spirit world. I believe that night I was visited by a spirit guide. Since then, I have been extremely sensitive to the spiritual world.

I used to play on my swing set, staring at the clouds imagining that there were little angels sitting on them watching me. I always had “imaginary friends,” whom I’ve concluded may have been nature spirit that I talked to. There was a man in the birch tree outside the window to my room who would tap on the glass at night to say “Sweet Dreams.” In my adolescence, my interactions with the spirit world became stronger. My family lived in a small house in a rural area of Connecticut. There I was constantly the center of spiritual attention. One night I awoke to my feet getting tickled, followed by the sounds of tiny giggles. I was visited by a flowing, bright female ghost on a couple of occasions. She floated over my bed and held her hands out to me. I wasn’t frightened by those incidences.

However, there were frightening incidences to occur. One occurred after a night of unsettling dreams. I woke up, feeling unnaturally cold. When I opened my eyes, I realized there was a small boy at the foot of my bed. He was in an outfit you’d expect from the 1920s or 1930s – a small jumpsuit with a poor boy’s hat. He was reaching out his hand to me, but I was so stricken with fear by his appearance that I couldn’t move. I began to panic. I could move my head back and forth, and I noticed the clock said 4:15. I stared at the lamp in my room, wishing it would just turn on. While I felt the ghost’s cold presence in my room, I just concentrated on the lamp, hoping I could unfreeze and reach to it to turn it on. After a minute of staring at it, it flickered on and off and then turned on completely. I was able to move and the ghost was gone.

On another night, after more bad dreams, I woke up to seeing faces peering at me from the wall. Their faces came out from the wall, and looked like relief sculptures. However, I was so used to paranormal activity, I just turned around and went back to bed. So, I learned how to ignore the cold rushes of air, the weird noises at night and the odd dreams. I willed myself into not dealing with the spirit world, and I believed that they felt this, because as a teenager, I was left alone.

These kinds of phenomenon did not occur during my high school years. I was too frightened to be open to them, I believe. After telling my mother about what I saw at our house, she insisted that what I was seeing was not real. What my mother failed to mention was the history of psychic power in her family line. A line of Italians, Scotsmen, French Canadians and Blackfoot Indians, many members of her family had strong psychic abilities. My great grandfather could clearly see auras and would entertain everyone at family parties by describing the colors he saw around them. My cousin would often be visited by our grandparents who had passed on a decade earlier. Even my mother has given accounts have seeing ghosts and my sister has a gift for scrying with mirrors.

During my early 20s, I started to meditate and become a spiritually aware person. Having studied many forms of divination, I realized that my encounters with the paranormal were more than coincidence. I recognized I had pushed my unique talent, a gift of sensing spirits and paranormal activity, to the wayside. After constant study, meditation, and practice, I reintroduced the ability back into my life. Almost a decade later, I have been able to use my abilities to speak with spirits and assist in paranormal investigations. I also can use the same psychic means to help others reach to people who have passed over, and give them reassurance that yes, they are very well, very happy, and watching over us.

Kiki is a Investigator with Volunteer State Paranormal Research and also uses her abilities to aid the VSPR team during our investigations.

Stress, pain, emotions, trauma, nervousness… all of these can cause the spiritual body to become ungrounded.   When one is ungrounded, even though the physical body is still attached or grounded to the earth by gravity, one’s spirit or energy may be scattered in many different directions–all over the place.

Feeling hyper, nervous, hysterical, having trouble focusing, misplacing belongings, feeling “spaced-out” or like your “head is in a fog”—these are all signs of being ungrounded.   One of the dangers of being ungrounded is that you are more likely to match negative energies and empathically acquire other people’s negative feelings.

It is quite simple to take your power back and become grounded again by using a basic grounding meditation.  The meditation below is an adaptation of what was learned in the book You Are Psychic by Debra Katz. In addition to grounding you, this meditation is also great way to release negative energy.

BASIC GROUNDING MEDITATION

Imagine you are like a large tree with huge roots growing deep into the earth. This tree is so huge and so well rooted that nothing is going to knock it over. When I do the grounding meditation, the tree I visualize is similar to the “Tree of Life”.

The branches reach up towards and absorb love and light from the Creator, and the roots spread out deep into the earth, rooting you making you solid and strong.

Your grounding cord runs through the trunk, a route for energy to flow from above your crown chakra down through your root chakra—a clear channel from the light from above down into the depths of the earth.

This cord connects you to the center of the planet. Through this cord you can release any negativity or any experience that is bothering you through your grounding cord. Simply visualize the energy, person, or incident and see it dislodging from its place in your energy field. After being dislodged, it is pulled down through the grounding cord by gravity, down through the roots to be dispersed back into the center of the earth where it dissipates and returns to its original source, to be used at a later time for something good.

There is nothing wrong with releasing a person from your energy field. You are not psychically harming the person, but releasing their energy so it can be returned to them.

Simply visualize all things that are not for your highest good being dislodged from your energy field and flowing down the grounding cord, into the center of the earth.

When you feel you have released everything that needed to go, you can draw in white light from the Creator. You can again visualize yourself as a tree, drawing in the bright white light of love from the Creator in through your leaves and branches. Or you may want to visualize drawing this light in through your crown chakra. Visualize whatever feels right for you. The white light is entering your body, filling you up. You are feeling full of peace, love, acceptance and a connection to everything that exists. The light continues to fill your body, until you are completely full and it is spilling out around you. You continue drawing in the white light until you are surrounded with it, and it is filling the entire room around you. You have manifested peace, love and acceptance in all of your surroundings.

The book You Are Psychic by Debra Katz is an excellent resource for grounding meditations.  It explains in great detail how to create your grounding cord, grounding yourself, grounding your surroundings, and even grounding a lost object so that you can find it.

Two souls passing in time,
Each sensing in the other, recognition of search’s
     completion..
The promise of coming home again.
Yet, each bound by prior commitments;
Each bound by societal dictates and expectations.
Moments to cherish.. foreseen, dreamed of, then
     longed for,

Excited aliveness of possibilities,
To soon cut short.

This window of opportunity too brief,
The courage to action too fragile,
Tick-tock then gone

Here again, in forms and appearances of this new incarnation,
Here again that spark of recognition in each for the other,

Will the torments of that first loss, now embolden heroic effort
Sufficient to loose personal and societal strictures?

Introduction 

This is poem is about two souls who are meant to find one another and be together to complete a major part of the tapestry of their human existences.  During their first encounter they are enticed and attracted to one another to an unexplainable degree, but they let their then-current life situations mute their behaviors toward one another until circumstances geographically remove them from each other’s presence.

Then, lifetimes later in a different incarnation, they again find and recognize each other in a setting almost identical with that of their first meeting; thus given a second opportunity to choose the powerful leadings of their hearts and souls or the comforts and stability of lives they have built to this point in time.

The author’s intent as conveyed in style and wording is to endeavor to bring to the reader’s remembrance or imagination a similar situation in the reader’s own life which was similarly charged with unspoken passions and allowed to quietly languish until the opportunity for positive action had passed.  A central theme highlighted in the poem is the impermanence of the window of opportunity, and the suggestion that the torment of a prior missed opportunity may be an encouragement to action if given a second chance.

The act of honoring an animal or anything in creation is not an act of  worship. It is the acknowledgment of their power and their being as brothers and sisters of the entire universe. It is a sign of our gratitude for their help. The energy of the animals, birds and other creatures that assist us should be honored. Native Americans often leave tobacco scattered on the ground as a gift. You could also burn incense in honor of the animal. When honoring animal wisdom and energy, always leave a gift of some sort. Always remember to say “Thank you.” For all the help they give us they deserve our gratitude.

Often humans forget (or never learn) that there are others on this planet who have wisdom to share.

All natural things communicate and can be talked with. However very few people actually try to talk to anything other than fellow humans.

To speak with an animal, plant, stone or other object, relax and get in tune with it. Imagine what you are trying to communicate in your mind. Feel its differences from you. If it is not a mammal try to understand its life, that of a plant soaking in the sun or a stone existing much longer and slower, slowly being worn down by the elements. Then try to sense the being that you wish to communicate with. Allow any image that comes into your mind. A rock spirit won’t necessarily look like a chunk of quartz. It might just as easily take on the form of a woman in a gown. Just let an image come to you. If you manage to connect, take some time to commune with it. Ask it for a message. Get to know it and remember to introduce yourself. Manners are manners no matter who or what you are talking to. Remember to say thank you and good bye.

Leaning up against a tree or looking at a river is often enough to find that connection. Notice that rocks and trees tend to respond slower than animals since their concept of time is so different. In addition when talking to trees or rocks try to slow down to meet them at a level closer to theirs. This can be very calming. Think about trying to jump from the concept of millennia to the concept of minutes while hiking up a steep trail and you should be able to figure out why!

Be still and know. All new learnings, all ideas about new things, creativity, daydreaming and mental effectiveness come to those who learn about silence. All warriors know about the power of silence.  All Elders know about stillness. Be still and know God. Meditation is about the place of silence. This is the place to hear God’s voice. We can find tremendous amounts of knowledge in the place of silence. This is the sacred place of God.

We have a common destiny with the tree, our DNA are as the same.  As we exhale the tree inhales our breath when the tree exhales we breath. It is like a tantric exercise between us and the tree.
